Nestled in a wide clearing within ancient forest, near the source of the Parma River, Rifugio Lagdei, the Gateway to the Apennines, is easily reachable by car.
From here, some of the most beautiful hikes depart, leading you to discover the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park.
Perfect for a stay, a lunch break, a day in nature, or a cool summer evening dinner. We offer rooms with private bathrooms, traditional mountain cuisine, and authentic Parma cold cuts, all prepared with simplicity and heart.
We’re open year-round:
• Daily from June 15 to September 15, and from December 26 to January 6
• Weekends, public holidays, and long weekends during the rest of the year
• Friday evenings (dinner and overnight stay) for groups of at least 8 people
• Extra openings available on request for groups and school trips
Lagdei welcomes you into the heart of the Park, with accommodation in two buildings: the Rifugio and the Casa nel Bosco (“House in the Woods”). Each room has a private bathroom, either ensuite or on the same floor.
The Rifugio features:
• One double room
• One triple room
• One typical mountain dormitory
The Casa nel Bosco (just 150 meters from the Rifugio) offers:
• One double room (with a double bed)
• One family room
• Three quadruple rooms (with bunk beds)
• One six-bed room (with bunk beds)
A rich calendar of events lets you experience the landscapes and nature of the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park with official guides: hikes, snowshoe walks, full moon outings, and stargazing evenings. Activities like orienteering, track hunting, and evening walks inspired by mountain legends offer fun and engaging ways for families and children to connect with nature.
Tastings, horseback riding days, yoga, and much more make Rifugio Lagdei a place where nearly every weekend holds something special. Custom excursions available for groups on request.
At Rifugio Lagdei, our cooking is simple — but simple doesn’t mean easy. It takes great care in selecting quality ingredients, attention to detail in preparation, and, of course, the magic hands of Adele and Giusi, our cooks. We use modern techniques and equipment to make everything in-house, even during the busiest times of the year. We’re a mountain hut, not a restaurant. You won’t find a menu with dozens of options, or tables set with fine linen and rows of cutlery and glasses…
But what we serve, we truly believe in — because it’s exactly what we would make for ourselves.
